Obituary:Cash Owing Carroll County, MD Car Accident Death

Obituary:Cash Owing Carroll County, MD Car Accident Death

The sudden death of a loved one in a Carroll County car accident is a devastating tragedy, compounded by immense emotional and financial stress. In the aftermath, families are often left facing a difficult reality: the deceased may have been owed money, known as “cash owings,” at the time of their death.

These outstanding funds can come from various sources. An employer may owe a final paycheck, commissions, or unpaid vacation time. A settled insurance claim or a personal loan repaid by a friend could also constitute money rightfully belonging to the deceased’s estate. In wrongful death cases, where another driver’s negligence caused the fatal crash, significant compensation may be owed to the surviving family.

Securing these cash owings is critical. The funds are often needed to cover final expenses, medical bills, and provide for the family’s future. The process, however, can be complex. It typically requires the appointment of an estate administrator through probate court, who then has the legal authority to identify, claim, and collect these assets.

Navigating probate and dealing with insurance companies while grieving is an overwhelming burden. Consulting with a Carroll County wrongful death attorney is a crucial step. They can protect your family’s rights, investigate the accident, and ensure that every dollar owed to your loved one’s estate is rightfully recovered, providing some financial stability during an unimaginably difficult time.

79-Year-Old Man with Dementia Chokes to Death at University Hospital Limerick

A 79-year-old man with dementia tragically choked to death after food became lodged in his larynx at University Hospital Limerick (UHL), an inquest has revealed.

The inquest, held at the Coroner’s Court in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick, determined that Liam Geehan died of asphyxiation, secondary to choking, with a background of various comorbidities. The inquest also heard that while there was no solid food present in Liam’s stomach, a postmortem conducted at UHL confirmed that his larynx had been obstructed by food, leading to his tragic death.

Liam, a long-time patient at Killeline Nursing Home in Newcastle West, had been transferred to UHL for medical treatment prior to the incident. His brother, John Geehan, shared that Liam had previously left his home after experiencing several robberies, which had contributed to his decision to move into the nursing home for care.

The coroner’s findings pointed to the unfortunate circumstances that led to Liam’s death, and his family, who fondly remembered him as a loving and well-regarded member of the community, is left to grieve this tragic loss.

Liam Geehan’s passing highlights the vulnerability of elderly individuals, particularly those with dementia, and the importance of ensuring their safety and care during hospital stays.
