Roderick Eskridge, Inmate Died Wilkinson County Correctional Facility In Woodville

The Eskridge family is now among the many in Mississippi grieving a loved one who died under the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC). 45-year-old Roderick Eskridge passed away on November 29, 2025, after being transported from Wilkinson County Correctional Facility to a Jackson hospital.

What compounds this tragedy is the profound lack of information provided to his family. In their time of grief, they are forced to beg the state for basic truths about how Roderick died. This is an unbearable burden no family should ever have to endure. They deserve answers, transparency, and accountability.

To Roderick’s family and all who loved him, our hearts are with you. His life mattered. His story matters. His death in a state facility must not be brushed aside or buried in the silence that too often surrounds Wilkinson County. The demand for justice and answers is a demand for human dignity.
