Amarion Peterson Identified as Victim in Deadly Stockton, CA Shooting

STOCKTON, Calif. – The community is in mourning as one victim from Saturday’s mass shooting has been identified by his family as 6-year-old Amarion Peterson. The tragedy, which unfolded at a child’s birthday party, left four people dead, including three children.

A massive manhunt involving multiple agencies and the FBI continues for the suspects still at large. The FBI is now offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to arrests or convictions in the case.

“They do believe at this time that there is more than one person involved,” said Heather Brent, San Joaquin Sheriff Public Information Officer. “This has been the number one priority. Our focus is finding that suspect and we are not going to stop until we do.”

The shooting occurred at an event space where over 100 people had gathered to celebrate a 2-year-old girl’s birthday. The child’s mother, Patrice Williams, described the horrifying moment. “As we got ready to start cutting her cake… all we heard were gunshots. Everybody just dove to the ground,” Williams said. “I’m just so shocked and lost and speechless. I just want to say I’m sorry to all the mothers out there that lost their kids at my birthday party.”

As the investigation intensifies, the Stockton community grieves the loss of young Amarion Peterson and the other victims, desperately seeking justice.
