League City Police Lt. Eric Cox Passes Away After Battle with Cancer

The League City Police Department and the wider community are mourning the loss of Lieutenant Eric Cox, who passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 51 years old.

A dedicated public servant, Lt. Cox’s career was defined by his commitment to protecting others. After honorably serving our nation in the United States Navy, he continued his service on the home front. His remarkable journey included protecting communities with the Galveston Sheriff’s Office, the Galveston Police Department, and the Houston Fire Department before joining the League City Police Department in 2008.

Lt. Cox leaves behind a legacy of bravery and sacrifice that spanned multiple branches of public safety. He is survived by his wife, Brenda, and their children, Tristan, Wyatt, and Nina.

Funeral services to honor Lt. Cox’s life and service will be held on December 11 at 11 a.m. at Grace Church Houston. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
