Shelly Hoddeson Georgia Obituary | NASATOPHAT Academy Coach Passed Away

It is with profound sadness that the Georgia soccer community mourns the loss of Shelly Hoddeson, a beloved coach, legendary player, and cherished member of the NASATOPHAT Families.

Shelly’s legacy is deeply rooted in Georgia soccer history. As a key player on the GSA 85 team under Coach Ted Colburn, she helped secure the 2001 National Championship, a historic first for a girls’ team from Georgia. Her exceptional talent propelled her to collegiate success, where she played at both the University of South Carolina and the University of Georgia.

She carried this champion’s spirit into her coaching at the academy, inspiring players with the same hard work, dedication, and positivity that defined her play. Her absence will be deeply felt on the pitch and within the entire program.

As we move through the holiday season, we ask that you keep Shelly’s family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

A funeral mass to celebrate Shelly’s life will be held on **December 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.** at **St. Brigid Catholic Church** in Johns Creek. The Rosary will be prayed in the chapel at 10:00 a.m., and a reception will follow the mass. All who knew her are warmly encouraged to attend and honor a life that impacted so many.
